| Back to the writing on the door, i started a thread on the Hamb about it and got some interesting response, some people said Army but then some said that was improbable considering the colour, year etc... i then contacted the previous owners son who i bought the car from and asked him... he said 'The 40 was an old army car, in Idaho that is cool that you found that!' If that's true it makes it a pre(US) second world war military vehicle. fuck knows what it was used for though... it will be interesting looking into it further I have now contacted the Idaho Military Historical Society, hopefully they can shed some light... | |

| Some of you noticed the 40 was on my for sale page... that was i think a moment of madness! Now i've dragged it out the corner where it had become like a peice of forgotten furniture i realised how much i really do like it and would be stupid to sell it before i get at least some used out of it... so now it's in a different corner but one where i can get to it in the evenings and get on with working on it. I had planned to do the full works... Mustang II IFS, notched rear, air bags etc but with having to spend quite a lot on the 57 Pontiac wagon engine rebuild it's not going to happen. so i have decided for the first season out next year it's going to be a real budget project. i have a plan for the stance, wheels, tyres, the motor will stay for now and so will the shitty old paint. So this is the RoadHouse Thrift project, it'll be on the road for spring, safe and solid, nothing fancy but looking tough! | |

| and the engoine nearly fell off the strap - the constant up and down "up a bit, no down a bit"! meant it had worked along one of the securing points to nearly off it was covered in 70yrs of crap and grease BUT all the bolts come undone really easy!! sorry about the sump and the small puddle of oil | |

It's here, did you see this thread with the pics? https://rhrco.forumotion.com/t644-picked-up-my-citroen-c4There's a lot still around, depends what you want as to how much you'll pay, coupes are a lot of money, a dirty old farm truck can be picked up for less than 2000euros if you shop right. mine was quite a lot more but the Boulangere's are quite desireable. | |
