1958 Swiss army bus belonging to Jay

This bus was ordered new by the Swiss army and was some kind of comunications vehicle with heavy duty radio equipment and just incase that failed a wicker basket full of carrier pigeons... i kid you not! its very low mileage and has little rust, the biggest issues are that some one had started carrying out a 15 window conversion on one side and there were loads of extra holes inside and one the roof where Army accessories/aerials had been mounted. a lot of these had been welded up badly which had caused some panel distortion...

The bus has since been painted in two tone satin grey, the lower half and inside is VW Chinchilla which matched the original inside colour and the top colour was matched to the Swiss army external darker grey. Steve at M-Restorations is responsible for laying the paint on and a damn fine job he's done! it's now sitting in Jay's Garage awaiting it's return to my workshop for the big refit...

oh i just realised i haven't posted the pics of it painted, i must sort that out, not now though cos i'm knackered!
