I take it the advantage is to keep road crap off the chassis. Did they make them for bays or was it just splits?
Sorry for all the questions i beleive it was only the double door(one each side) buses and sunroof buses that had them on splits from the factory, they were actually meant for stiffening the structure where the sunroof or extra doors weekened the body. but they are also good for keeping the shit out from around all the outriggers, chassis rails etc. sunroof model bays(and early Westies as they were sunroof bodiied buses) had them and again probably the double sliders too... i've never looked underneath one of those though...

| prob is on the 'not-so-popular-in-here' late bays the pans could clog and not drain and this seems to then rot out the sills and in fact can accelerate it.....having them removeable will be cool and I do intend to do this on my bay, to keep the worst of the road crap off | |

| This bus is one of three that were the first buses that me and Tim as a joint project imported from the USA about a year and a half ago.......Frank was from Little Rock Arkansas, land not only of "Stand By Me" but the Clintons... the the other 2 were from Texas......all splits, all dry, but all needing lots of work....we shipped them in from Houston in a single container.........the 2 Texas buses were sold to UK buyers but there was something special about Frank, being all over OG Velvet Green and with OG (not aged) signwriting....I couldn't let him go.......
I appreciate all your comments about Frank and there have been many.....all the original, faded buses me and Tim have brought in from dry US states have been chosen using Tim's expertise (I made soooo many suggestions to which the answer was NO !).......then when they got here Tim has done all the work on them.....the way Frank Pierce looks now is all down to Tim....I hope Tim may be able to get a few pics on the forum before I drive him out of RHR this weekend......I hope to get Frank to some of the shows this year......If you live in or near Stamford you may see Frank on the road this weekend......
I have another bus in the RHR workshop, dry as a bone and OG faded paint........a 65 sealing wax red and cream split....full camping interior....drop dead gorgeous........in a few weeks it might be for sale....watch this space.....

| We have tried to import original buses which are honest and with character....my 71 Montana Red bay is virtually rust free but because there is metal showing in places people say it needs a "paint job"
On the other hand enthusiasts appreciate the originality, which is what really matters......

| That would be great.....Ive got to get some new designs printed first, as I assume a pic of actual printed shirts is better than just the designs on their own....am due to see Stamford Engraving next week.....should be printed in about 10 days......am going to use slightly heavier cotton than the ones I was selling at Vanfest....am going to include XXL as a lot of bus fans are.....big....! | |

Glad to hear your thinking of the bigger fellas out there dude. being 6' 5" and 17 stone you tend to need a slightly larger shirt.
