Only paid £400 for it,and looking at prices on the forums, I must have trebled my money by now!

| Vin# 230 2162 942 Built: Tuesday 17th March 1970 Body type: van M-codes: 103 heavy duty shock absorbers 119 Eberspacher BN4 petrol heater 121 2 electrical ventilators in fresh air system (ambulance fans!) 191 Strengthened outer and center underfloor plates (belly pan) - the code for the strengthened frame for the Dormobile roof Model: Westfalia Campmobile Paint: Savannah Beige L620 Originaly delivered to: Heitz and Co volkswagen dealers, Munchener, Strabe Germany on the Tourist programme on May 19th 1970! Now located: Oxford England Owned by: Graham and Catherine Lange Interesting history/stories: Completely stock vehicle with factory fitted Dormobile roof and Oslo interior. Even has the original lino and roof canvas! Owned for 31 years by the first owner who was from Washington State in the US but bought her when posted in Italy. When only a few weeks old she did a trip through Italy, France to the UK, taking in Oxford en route to Scotland! In '72 she went to the States and continued to be used. In 91 she was sold to a friend, they hit a deer and then she was parked up for 8 years till they repaired her. They gave up on that idea and put her up for sale on ebay where we bought her and shipped her back to the UK. We have original photos showing her being picked up at the dealer, the original bill of sale, all the manuals, service books, bills, etc dating back to year dot and loads of other photos, etc. NEVER been welded and not even a spec of rust anywhere - even her cab floors are perfect! The only problem we have had mechanically was the steering - we got a replacement steering box which helped a bit but she still wallowed. We thought some new tyres might help and in the process found the real problem - her 4 tyres were half filled with water!! The fault we think of a damp compressor! [img] | |

| Sadly we haven't got it working yet. We think it's a fuel pump problem and is just about to go in to be sorted. We got the fan working and checked the other usual suspects but it still isn't pumping any fuel in - doesn't appear to be pressuring up. Hopefully this should sort it for an early outing in the Spring. | |

| Vin#:2302042930 Built: 1 Oct 69 Body type: Kombi M Codes: 020 - Speedometer & odeometer in miles 097 - car radio model Emden 187 - headlamps for left hand traffic 500 - full width (half height) partition between cabin and load compartment with 2-seater passenger seat 517 - factory prepared for campmobile interior B67 - SO67 Westfalia Campmobile interior (1968-1970) Equipped like a Westfalia Campmobile 67A (M-Code A67) but with additional pop-up roof, bed and built-in roof luggage rack Model: Kombi, sliding door left, RHD Paint: L87 perl white but now white on top and lime green below Originally delivered to: European delivery programme, car was picked up at the VW factory by the first owner Now located: Auckland, New Zealand Owned by: Yvonne Interesting history: We think, after she was picked up at the VW factory, she was taken on a big trip around Europe before being shipped to NZ. She was first registered in NZ on 29 Jan 1971. She's had over 20 owners in NZ but not many for more than a year so presume she became many a backpackers friend. If she could talk we expect she'd have many tales to tell! She was restored in 2010/2011 by a chap in Timaru on the South Island and we bought her in Mar 13 and drove her back to Auckland via the Cook Strait ferry. | |
