- Tim just wondered whats your plan for routing the exhaust system?? does it go under the axle or up and over the 'c' notch to exit out back? or is it coming out the side i.e. laker style and not reaching as far back as the axle?
Well Dunk has bought a new set of Fenton manifolds and twin pipes to go all the way to the back. it will have to be modified around the rear axle area obviously, pretty sure there wont be room to go over the axle with the airbags, top links and shock absorbers so i'd like to think we can run under without fouling at it's highest ride height. laker style wont work as there's no where to exit the pipe through the chassis rails if you know what i mean? | |

| Yeah thats what I was thinking cuz it'd end up coming through the floor to go over the axle wouldnt it! Im sure I've seen an exhaust that someone had run under the axle but had actually flattened the pipe slightly so it was oval (so still the same volume/area of pipe but different shape) to give an extra bit of clearance.............if that helps?? Can't remember where i saw it though dudes! sorry. | |

| Forgive me for asking and/or sounding dumb but does the travel with the bags affect the steering set-up at all? or is it just a tricky route to get to the steering rack that requires 3 of those swivelling knuckles? ahhh takes me back to doing the truck steering set up. Looks like fun dude, Dunks, you must be gagging to get back in it now! I can't wait to see it again | |

| Tim will probably explain it better bit it is all a bit tricky. The route basically goes through the engine mount in our case, probably because I'm keeping the straight 6 Yr right about getting it back but I'm in no rush at the moment. | |

| No the extra suspension travel doesn't affect the steering, originally the steering column went straight into the steering box which was mounted on top of the chassis leg, because now it has the rack in front of the cross member so that's just the route to get from the column to the rack... all made a bit more complicated by the fact the gear change is mounted on the column too. | |

| as Tim is grafting I thought I'd do a quick update. On the final stretch (hopefully), hit a hold up as we decided to go for a power brake kit as its discs all round, bit of a delay getting it over from the states but here now. All the bits needed for the air are sorted, just ordered dampers for the rear and a set of 205/75x15 american classis wide whites (ouch they hurt the plastic!!). Wheels are going to be black not red. The delay has meant that my bits coming over in the container from the states have arrived and can go on the same time. Most importantly the headers and exhaust, can't wait to hear that I'm sure Tim will update with photos soon enough. Target for hitting the road is the nostalgia nationals at the end of the month!! | |
