I've got Dunk's 54 Chevy back in the workshop for some serious mods including... Fatman Fabrications front MII IFS, Gambino Kustoms rear frame notch and four link kit, full Air suspension and 12V conversion...

Out with the engine...

A few new gaskets here and ther might be a good idea while it's out

Out with the old...

in with the new...

Some more progress today, tacked in the cross member, spent a lot of time moking up the top shock/arm mounts, trimming them up and getting them ready to weld in. this is the kind of job you definately dont want to be doing twice so measuring and checking is very important!

Also as this is the super low version the chassis legs have to be notched so the steering rack can sit high enough so the rest of the day was spent doing that...

Some more progress today...

lots more measuring, checking angles, measurements from every angle then checking again before finally welding it all in.

Then had a quick mock up...

Hopefully on the way to getting the back end sorted too now I've found a (hopefully) suitable Volvo axle. Discs brakes all round, very gay Laughing

Not much gone on in the last few days on this but as we're sorting a few missing parts but here's a few more pics...

This is pretty much the ride height recommended for general driving with the bottom arms level so the ball joints are central in their sockets, should ride lovely on most roads, can be run much higher for speed bumps and other obsticals, and very much lower for posing Smile

This will be pretty much the lowest it will go, frame will just about be on the floor at this height so more a parking than driving height

Here's the new gearbox(on the left), completely different bolt patern as you can see, hopefully we can make an adapter plate to make it fit the Bellhousing

it also doesn't have a rear mount, sure i can knock something up though...

The rear frame/chassis notches went missing somewhere during in shipping, i can get another set sent but time is short with the car already in the workshop and with xmas so close, shipping will take ages! so i've drawn some up from the many photos online. i'm pretty confident that they are correct...

Nice clean boot area, about to get chopped up...

Here's the new axle, it's from a Volvo 940... should be nice and strong with decent ratio's

This is the old axle, springs etc... nothing left to use here.

Here's the Gambino 4 link rear kit, top quality gear, i'm looking forward to getting into this Smile
