Picked it up Tuesday morning, had it running and driving by the afternoon with a little help from Mazo avin

It's rock solid with only rust in the cab floor and one rear pocket near the back light where building lime had been spilt down it probably 30+ years ago.

Mechanically it doesn't look too bad, brakes need overhauling, it needs one rocker arm(ones cracked) and we can only find 2 gears so far but it's all pretty clean and complete.

Michelle came down and Ankor waxed it Tuesday night which made a big difference visually.

Original factory hand pinstriping...

Time for tinkering...

One happy girl!

Old sign writing looks like it wasn't done by a sign writer but looks better in the flesh than on the photos so is definately staying

After Ankorwaxing...

Cool pair of trucks!

the plan is to get it on the road as it is first thing, we quite fancy running it around standard height for a while and cant afford to buy the parts to lower it yet anyway.

both these trucks are rock solid, really impressed avin

I reckon you could do it on a real budget 4-6 inches for around a grand, if you want it proper low and riding really nice then your going to have to go for some kit like the 54 Chevy's getting now which will run into thousands obviously...

Had a bit of time on the the truck today, got the front screens(one new, one original) in with a new rubber, not the easiest screens i've ever fitted. i can quite honestly say i couldn't have done it without Michelle's help! rear one wasn't so bad but the filler strip was tight as hell! fitted a new R/H 1/4 light too, that was easy Smile

Good work dude, when we fitted the screens in our truck (i dunno if it was cuz theyre curved) we gave up after about 3 hours. Got an ol' boy i know from up the road who fits glass for a living to do it...............did it himself front and rear in about 45 minutes! Laughing

The only reason it was a bit tricky was because it's one rubber with 2 bits of glass in, one peice of glass normally pulls it's self into the right place, it's hard to explain typing. i'm sure the next time i do it it'll be easier, well i hope so Smile

well finally this truck is up and trucking...

Mot'd it last week and the registration docs/tax disc arrived today so it's sat outside on the drive for the first time tonight... Michelle is chuffed to bits, she had only driven it round the yard so far so tomorrow she'll get to go driving on the road(and see how badly it drives Laughing )
