Is it because you sit in a chair motionless, dribbling all day? Laughing

Hi all,

Im david and last year I finally brought a 65 lhd split after about 20 beetles, beach buggy's etc.

Its an ex-swedish school bus so its got cargo doors on both sides, great for camping and loading the bikes for a ride round rutland water.

Had a few problems last year, blew engine, electrics playing up (took opportunity to fit a split charge system which was pretty easy in the end) but all sorted now and now turning to paint. Not easy though in a single garage, but gradually getting there panel by panel.

After paint, have the dropped spindles to fit and then the straight axle set up.

Have a few weekends booked for Newquay (last year managed to get to run to the sun (not that impressed and god how this changed since I last went 10 years ago perhaps i'm getting old) and ripcurl boardmasters - fantastic, barbies and fires on the beach at night, watching the sun go down)).

This year, booked so far are Fat Face Night Surf in Newquay in June and then Ripcurl Boardmasters in August again, plus a run of VW shows hopefully.

Hope to catch up with you over the coming months.

David

No worries - those shows above are a bit southern - midlands centric. There are a couple of more northern ones like Tatton park and Leeds but thats about it. Head south for some VW fun dude Wink

Hi my name is Johnny, 35, from Northern Ireland, been into VWs since a nipper with my dad owning a few. Just got serious about them and own a 66 bug yet to be slammed and in excellent nick, and a 71 Devon which hopefully will be getting the full treatment if i can find a garage with a house attached to move into this year.

Theres isnt much of a scene over here but our local club the (NBOC 200+ members and the biggest club in ireland) are doing their best to promote VWs in N.Ireland. Its hard to find local parts and even harder to find good restorers. As my old man served his trade working on cars and welding hes gonna teach me.

Joined here as im a regular on EB and Tims van i one of my favorites, also interested in the 1303 gaerbox conversion after reading about it on EB.

My name is wookie. I live in Stamford. I drive A ford Mondeo. Ok, so the mondeo is a bit gnarly now cos it's on 20s... and I've got a merc 300TE (W124) awaiting some attention and a '84 Pontiac Station wagon woody full of ProHopper hydros that lives in a container next to Tim's workshit (sorry, 'shop')... I'm 32. I have two kids (who are ace) but they mean that the cars don't alwayz get the love they deserve! Mad
