Hello folks, let's get the introductions done first, I'm Ed and since Monday I just can't stop smiling. I'll explain why.
A while ago I met Tim and we ended up chatting about his Buick and importing cars. His Buick's awesome and the importing business all seemed a bit easier than I'd initially anticipated.
With the seed planted in my head it only took was six cans of Kronenbourg before I clicked the Buy-It-Now button on Ebay.com, and I was the theoretical owner of a 1969 Chrysler 300.
I've always had a big thing about the 60s and 70s land yachts and I particularly like the Mopar C-bodies so when I found this original paint, unmolested, 53k miles from new Chrysler in Texas with the full horsepower 440ci engine it was time to make one of my dreams a reality.
Anyway, fast forward six months, after various hurricanes, customs queries and general faffing about I picked it up from the docks on Monday. It was all a bit heart-in-mouth collecting it. I've never had a car purchase so built up, and I've never seen one of these cars in real life, let alone mine.
As it turned out the seller, a really helpful chap, was as good as his word and the car was in exactly the same condition as I expected. It's going to need a new vinyl roof and some general tidying up but it's all there, almost rust free and most importantly it's looks even better in the flesh – it's outrageously big. Here are a couple of pics from when I picked her up...
Hope you like.
