Oop, just seen the pm. Sorry about that lol.

Yeah, she is cool. Can't wait to have a drive. Hopefully it's just the starter motor ( not that I know anything about it lol ).

Your bus is the best part of 40 years old, expect things not to work, and enjoy her.....you have a piece of history.......look up her past, like Egotrippin did............

Glad you got home all ok, i'm suprised to hear you had to bump it, it's always started no problem everytime on the button as it were... may be just a terminal come loose on the starter motor or i guess it could have just chosen now to give up... sods law!

Yeah the couple had just done a couple of thousand mile camping trip up in the mountains of Northern California as i recall. i'm sure they'd be glad to share any stories and maybe even some photos during the time they owned the bus...

Just so you know Mel, me and my lad Guy (aged 7) ankorwaxed your bus about three weeks ago, so it will have some body protection for the winter....you need to repeat this at least annually, and ideally get the underside done too..it has to be done with a pressure gun......the process brought the colour up niocely too, which as far as I know is Montana red, same as the spidey bus, and same as my own red 71....some of the surface blemishes also were removed/decreased in the process and I think if you experiment carefully you will find ways to remove more......its a very rare and original bus so think carefully before having any paintwork done......

My own 71 seems to have had a trail of electrical issues, currently the battery drains quickly and the indicators aren't working....you just have to take a deep breath and persevere.....its worth it !

Brilliant thanks. All taken on board!

It would appear the battery is drained on Gladys. Dan is now on the hunt for a charger to see if that helps. She won't even bump start lol. There were lots of loose wires too which have no been put back.

Deep breaths aplenty....but its all good!!!!

Battery is now on charge and the wire from the alternator was loose, there's a nut missing, so that shall go back on tomorrow, (if we find a nut to fit) and then hopefully, fingers crossed, she'll start !!!!!

Yeah. The battery wasn't connected, all the wires were loose, so just drained of power. Dan popped it back in this morning and she fired up nicely. He's just gone to get a nut for the alternator wire and some fuses and we are in business again.

Thank goodness it was relatively easy to find!!

I might get to drive her today after all.................. stay off the roads y'all !!!

Sees ya tomorrow.
