Subject: Early 68 Tintop Westy, one owner! Fri Feb 20 2009, 22:20
Don't be put off by the faded(what looks like ceiling wax red) paint, this is a one previous owner early 68 push button door handle tintop Westfalia from Southern California. It is super straight and the only rust on the whole bus is on the lower screen surround. the rest is very dry and the underside is really clean. Mechanically it has been very well maintained, the steering and gear change is nice and tight and the 1600SP engine runs perfectly. When it was bought from the original owner a few months ago he typed out his own manual of do's and dont's for the bus which consists of several pages. he was obviously upset about letting the bus go but knew ful well it had come to the point where he was just too old to drive it and the most important thing to him the was that found it's way to a new loving home and owners that would take care of it. The interior is very good for it's age, a good clean, some new curtains and carpet and it would be spot on. the cab area is also very tidy and it still has the original dealer fitment radio. it may benefit from a coat of new paint but the existing paint does polish up to a shine and the roof is still the original white paint.
the price as the bus is right now is £5750 ono or with a full MOT and UK registered with the screen surround repaired £7250 ono.

the grey primer is just where some minor dents have been repaired, the underside is the cleanest i have ever seen, even the battery tray is perfect and it's all factory original primer with light surface rust here and there. the engine bay was locked with no key but we opened it now, i will get some pics. the reason why i have not been pushing this bus is because the customs import form has never been issued and we are waiting for it.

This Bus is now MOT'd and waiting registration, while it was on the MOT lift i had a good look and i can honestly say this is the cleanest most original bus underneath i have ever seen!
it has slightly noisey dynamo bearings and i have not repaired the screen surround, price registered is £5950 and that is a bargain!!!
